Solo humanitarian mission in aceh tamiang

Its the end of the year and i got spare cash to be contributed as Zakat for the needy. I decided to donate to humanitarian cause for the severe flood in Aceh and i have 2 options to do it :

1. Donate the money to NGOs and they will use part of the money for themselves and the leftovers will be distributed to the needy.

2. Buy a MYR260 flight to Aceh and distribute my own 100% zakat to the needy

Off i went to Aceh to get the taste of adventure while doing my own humanitarian mission. Landed in Kualanamu airport, rented a Rp90k/day scooter and headed straight to Aceh Temiang. During the first few weeks of the flood, the affected areas remained cutoff, petrol fuel were sold as high as Rp30k/liter (normal price is Rp10k)

The journey from Medan to Aceh Tamiang took 3-4 hours. Stopped over at a snack stall and had a chat with flood survivors and they said before the flood, it rained non stop for 3 days and the water level rose as high as 7-8 meters. They only ate instant noodle and bottled water for 5 days, money isn’t the problem, its just that all food supplies were totally cutoff. Hospitals were closed, one villager had a cut at the arm and was bled to death due to medical services were totally inoperable.
