Careem Taxi from queen alia international airport to my homestay located north of amman costs about JD39 for 40km trip. Clearly a rip off.
there is an airport bus which costs JD3.30 which runs every 30 minutes ( or maybe every 1 hour ) and its final stop is at North Amman Bus Station. I took a photo of the ticket counter and was told taking photo is not allowed.
